African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (AACCWI) Announces Honorees and Chairs for the 2025 Breakfast of Champions

The African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (AACCWI) will host its annual Breakfast of Champions on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Fiserv Forum. More than a breakfast, this signature gathering is a powerful celebration ofthe people and partnerships shaping the future of Black-owned businesses in Wisconsin.

The event’s theme, Empowering Leaders, Celebrating Legends, reflects the Chamber’s commitment to lifting up the changemakers transforming our communities. The 2025 Business Champion is Seyoum Mengesha, Diverse Business Development Director at WEDC. Seyoum’s mission is clear: to help small businesses win. His dedication and behind-the-scenes leadership have opened doors for countless entrepreneurs and strengthened the foundation for equitable economic development across Wisconsin.

Also being recognized are two dynamic leaders shaping what’s next. Jeff Cannady, owner of Pwr Fwd Media, will be honored as the 2025 Young Pioneer, a visionary entrepreneur creating space and opportunity through media. Melissa Blue Muhammad, CEO of Allah Mode, will receive the 2025 Rising Star award for her bold innovation and influence as a creative leader in wellbeing and culture.

Leading this year’s celebration as event co-chairs are Dr. Debbie Allen and Judge Derek Mosley, two longtime champions of community progress whose voices and values align deeply with the Chamber’s mission.

“The Breakfast of Champions is about more than recognition,” said Nikki Purvis, President and CEO of AACCWI. “It’s about making space to honor those who have quietly and consistently moved our community forward. The landscape of philanthropy and giving is changing before our eyes, which is why support for events like this is critical to sustaining our mission and keeping our business ecosystem thriving.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available for companies of all sizes. Now more than ever, organizations like AACCWI need strong community partners to continue delivering high-impact programming and support to Black entrepreneurs and small business owners.
