2023 Keynote Speaker
Shonn Hinton
Learn more
Shonn Hinton is a product of Milwaukee’s underrated diverse, fertile, unground community of singers, musicians, and songwriters. Shonn’s distinct signature sound has enhanced significantly in the past few years. His diversified sound has been compared to the smooth, melodic sound of Eric Clapton-in addition, he also has the intensified electric sound of Jimi Hendrix and Freddie King-all of which are major influences in his career.
Shonn has been performing in the Milwaukee scene for over a decade now. Born into a family of musicians (Father is a guitarist and mother is organist/singer) Shonn began to play the guitar at the tender age of 12. He’s built up a solid foundation in this city, while developing his unique playing style with elements of Classic R&B, blues, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Hip Hop.
With three albums, and four singles under his belt, Shonn’s mission, passion, and vision gets clearer by the second which is to only resurrect real music, but also true love music. Shonn’s gifts have truly made room for him and has given him the ability to play with some really great artists such as:
- Young Money Recording Artist: Lil Wayne
- Geffen Recording Artist: Mary J Blige, Avant
- Jive Recording Artist: Angie Stone, Syleena Johnson
- Def Jam: 112, Kelly Price
- Epic Recording Artist: Glenn Lewis
- Columbia Recording Artist: Michelle Williams (from group Destiny’s Child), John Legend

And the list doesn’t stop there, Shonn is alsoa a phenomenal fashion designer.
He has unlimited talents and the will always keep you guesing … yearning for more.

2023 Emcee
Bryant McCray, CBS 58 News
Learn more
Bryant started his journalism career as an intern with WJLA, an ABC affiliate, in Washington, D.C. There he discovered his passion for storytelling and investigative news.
After graduating from SNC, he began to work for the people of Green Bay, Wisconsin, as a reporter and producer for WFRV-TV, a CBS affiliate.
It was in Green Bay where Bryant found a new team to root for, the Green Bay Packers! Along with rooting for the green and gold, Bryant garnished new skills as a storyteller and journalist – learning to hold community leaders accountable, shedding light in corners that often remain dark for far too long.
However, Chicago called Bryant back home for a brief stint — telling stories to a different audience; working in luxury retail, a time period Bryant says he will never forget.
2020-2021, undoubtedly brought big moments to our nation and our world. It was those big historical moments that brought Bryant back to news.
Now, back in Wisconsin, Bryant seeks to amplify the voices of our community, bridging the unspoken gaps, talking with officials and community members — not just telling the stories of those that live here, but being an advocate on behalf of all.
